The Documentary That Inspired The Real Story
A co-production of Obie Productions and Maryland Public Television.
Join us in this Telly Award-winning documentary following the real stories of addiction and the power of recovery. The documentary features raw, unfiltered conversations with individuals who have faced addiction and found their way forward. Their stories explore trauma, mental health, incarceration, family, and the ways addiction can impact not only individuals, but the people around them.
But Real Stories of Addiction and Hope is ultimately a story about more than addiction. It is about resilience, rebuilding, and discovering a new way forward. Each person shares the challenges they faced in seeking help and the ongoing process of building a life in recovery.
Through their experiences, the documentary highlights an important reality of recovery: there is no single path and no finish line. Recovery is a lifelong journey, and healing can take many different forms.
Real Stories of Addiction and Hope provides an intimate look at the realities of addiction while giving a voice to those who have found hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Major underwriting support for this program was provided by Michael Silberman and Family, and was produced in cooperation with Behavioral Health System Baltimore.
